Outgoing feeder bays are the most common application class in MV and LV switchgear. The protection device must cover phase overcurrent (50/51), earth-fault (50N/51N or 50G/51G depending on neutral treatment), directional functions for ring or radial networks (67/67N), breaker control with interlocking, and integration into the higher-level system through IEC 61850 GOOSE or IEC 60870-5-104 SCADA.
