Protection and grid-decoupling for renewable generation
SYMAP® Compact+ is FGH-certified per VDE-AR-N 4110:2018-11 (medium voltage) and VDE-AR-N 4120:2018-11 (high voltage), and supports the UK G99 grid code. The product implements EZA (active & reactive power controller), EZE generation unit control, and NA (network decoupling) functions required by these standards. SYMAP® products are installed in approximately 1,000 solar power plants worldwide.
Note: Compact+ F1/F2/F3/F4 should not be interpreted as direct equivalents of the classic SYMAP® F/M/T/G variants. The Compact+ variant is selected according to measurement inputs, CT/VT configuration, I/O, communication and Order Code options. The classic SYMAP® series is selected according to the application and system architecture.
Which SYMAP® for this application?
For the grid connection of a PV plant, wind farm or hybrid renewable plant with Grid Code requirements, SYMAP® Compact+ GC is considered as the protection, metering and control layer on the AC interface and PCC. For larger plants, the configuration is extended with additional IEDs according to the number of MV feeders, PCS/inverter transformers, collector cables, auxiliary supplies, measurement points and communication requirements. Compact+ F1/F2/F3/F4 are selected according to the required measurement inputs and functions of the individual cell, while the classic SYMAP® F/T/LD/DC/BAT variants are considered when the application requires a corresponding system or dedicated SYMAP® architecture.
