For our customers in marine, offshore, energy generation and industrial markets, the right certificate at the right time is often the difference between a project that goes ahead and one that gets stuck. Our portfolio carries the full set of approvals you need.

A certificate is not an administrative item. It's proof.

When a SYMAP® product carries a type approval from a classification society, an FGH certificate or a cyber-security certificate, it means the equipment has passed independent testing against defined standards. It is not a stamp on a document, but proof that the device has been tested, documented and accepted for operation in critical electrical power systems.

For EPC contractors, class surveyors and FAT engineers, this page brings together the approvals projects most commonly require, grouped by application and linked to the relevant technical documentation.

Roadmap

What do you need for your application?

Data centres
N+1 / N+N, backup gensets
Uptime/Tier requirements are a project-level infrastructure standard, not a SYMAP® device certificate. What is relevant: internal electrical architecture, SCADA / BMS / EPMS communication, IEC 61850 Ed.1/Ed.2 and Compact+ GOOSE performance certificate when the relevant communication option is selected, cyber/security requirements, and CE / EMC / LVD device compliance per the documentation. Compact+ for individual bays; SYMAP® G/BCG/ECG for genset/PMS; F/T/M/DC and ARC according to the internal infrastructure. Data centres →
SYMAP® ARC
Arc-flash protection of switchgear
Dedicated type certification for SYMAP® ARC as an arc protection system for MV switchgear. The system detects an arc in less than 1 ms and provides fast trip outputs with tripping time ≤ 2 ms. The breaker time and any arc extinguishing depend on the switchgear equipment and are not part of the core ARC claim. SYMAP® ARC as a modular system for arc detection and fast trip-signal generation. Not mixed with ANSI protection functions inside the relay. ARC →

The table shows typical combinations. Certificates, type approvals, communication options and functions depend on the selected product, Order Code, firmware, project configuration and the current documentation. IEC 60870-5-104 and Modbus are supported protocols, not product certificates, unless a dedicated test proof is provided for a specific project. IACS UR E27 Rev.1 is a mandatory technical requirement for cyber resilience of shipboard systems and equipment; SYMAP® carries cyber-security type approvals from six classification societies (ABS, BV, CCS, DNV, KR, LR) in accordance with this requirement. For your project, send the single-line diagram and requirements list to contact-tender, and we will confirm which approvals are required and which configuration carries them.

Cyber security type approvals

The SYMAP® series carries cyber-security type approvals from six leading classification societies: ABS, Bureau Veritas, China Classification Society, DNV, Korean Register and Lloyd's Register. All approvals are issued in accordance with IACS Unified Requirement E27 Rev.1 — a mandatory technical requirement for all new ship contracts under IACS rules from 1 July 2024.

IACS is the International Association of Classification Societies and issues Unified Requirements. Product type approvals are issued by the IACS member classification societies in accordance with those requirements.

Quality management

ISO & manufacturing standards

ISO 9001

Quality Management System — covers our complete development, manufacturing, testing and after-sales process at our Hamburg headquarters.

ISO 14001

Environmental Management System — Stucke Elektronik GmbH operates an audited environmental management system at its production site.

Note: ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are organizational management system standards for quality and environmental management in production. They are not certificates for individual functions or devices and should not be interpreted as a substitute for product-level type approvals (class societies, FGH, CE/EMC/LVD).
