Lifecycle support, end to end

A protection relay we ship today may be in service for 30 years or more. Across that lifetime, you will need parameter changes, firmware updates, retrofit options, spare parts, troubleshooting on board ships at anchor, and class re-certifications every five years. We support every device we ever made — including HIMAP, SYNPOL, DICON and SYNPOL®D — from a single global service organisation.

Service portfolio

24/7 emergency service

For vessels at sea or platforms on station, downtime is unacceptable. Our service desk in Hamburg dispatches engineers from the nearest office within hours, with priority spare parts shipping when needed.

Spare parts — every generation

We hold spare parts on stock for every product line we have ever shipped, including HIMAP, SYNPOL, DICON and SYNPOL®D. For obsolete components, we offer 1:1 retrofit replacements (e.g., SYMAP®R replaces HIMAP).

Retrofit programs

For aging fleets, retrofit projects upgrade legacy protection without panel rework. SYMAP®R drops into the HIMAP cutout; ECG application variants cover SYNPOL functionality. Modern algorithms, original wiring.

Class re-certification

Every 5 years, MV switchboards on classed vessels need re-certification. We perform secondary current injection tests, breaker timing, protection coordination verification, and produce class-witnessed reports.

Commissioning & FAT/SAT

For new builds, we attend Factory and Site Acceptance Tests, perform parameter setting, IEC 61850 SCD engineering, GOOSE configuration, and DP-FMEA proving trials.

Long-term support — while parts remain available

Every product generation we have ever delivered remains in active support as long as components are available on the market and in our stock. In practice this means we still service and supply spare parts for devices whose production ended more than 25 years ago. We do not set artificial EOL dates that force the customer to replace; when justified, we also propose the next generation with extended functionality, but the choice stays with you.
